Faculty members

The Teaching and Research Staff (FACULTY) consists of Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors and Lecturers. Faculty members are public officials and enjoy functional independence in the exercise of their teaching and research duties. Faculty members have the obligation to provide teaching, research-scientific and administrative work.

The teaching work mainly includes teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses, organization, supervision and operation of laboratories and clinics, laboratory or clinical exercises and assignments, participation in tutorial courses and seminars, writing teaching aids, collaboration with undergraduate and postgraduate students, conducting examinations and evaluating students, as well as supervisory duties in the examination process.

The research-scientific project mainly includes basic or applied research, guidance and supervision during the preparation of theses, diploma theses and doctoral dissertations, as well as participation in conferences and research seminars.

The administrative work mainly includes participation in administrative bodies of HEIs (Sector General Assembly, Department General Assembly, Department Board of Directors, Senate), participation in HEI committees and councils, holding the position of Sector Director, Department President, Dean of School, Vice-Rector, Rector, as well as participation in electoral bodies and advisory committees.

Faculty members are also tasked with providing services to the community related to their specialty and position.

Faculty members are appointed under the full-time status, and may, exceptionally, be placed in the part-time category upon their application, as defined in the applicable legislation, provided that they do not fall under the conditions of incompatibility and suspension of faculty membership.

Faculty members have the right to advance to the next level, in accordance with the applicable provisions.
