Dean's Office of the School of Economics and Political Sciences

According to the Law “New Horizons in Higher Education Institutions: Strengthening the quality, functionality and connection of HEIs with society and other provisions” (Law 4957/2022 – Government Gazette A' 141 – 21/07/22), the Deanship consists of: a) the Dean of the School, b) the Chairmen of the School's Departments, c) one representative from each category of members of Special Educational Staff (EEP), Laboratory Teaching Staff (EDIP) and Special Technical Laboratory Staff (ETEP), provided that members of the said categories of staff serve in the School's Departments, and d) the representatives of the students of the School's Departments at a rate of ten percent (10%) of the members of the Deanship of the abovementioned a) and b), who are elected among the student representatives in the Department Assemblies with a minimum representation of one student per cycle of studies, provided that the School's Departments organize study programs for all three cycles.

Dean's Committees

The Dean of the School of Political Science participates as a member in committees of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA):

  • Ethics Committee of the Hellenic Academy of Sciences,
  • Postgraduate Studies Committee of the EKPA.
  • Evaluation Committee for the Award of the Honorary Doctorate
  • Committee for the Award of the Annual Awards for Excellence in Research of the National University of Cyprus, the Annual Awards for Outstanding University Teaching of the National University of Cyprus and the Annual Awards for Recognition of Outstanding Contribution to the University and Society, and other committees upon appointment by the competent bodies of the National University of Cyprus Administration.

We note that the Committees remain open and subject to continuous review, both in terms of their subject matter and their composition.
