At the initiative of the Dean of the School of Economics and Political Sciences of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Professor Nikolaos Iriotis, the President of the Department of Economics, Professor Georgios Dotsis and the President of the Department of Business and Organizational Management, Professor Dimitrios Thomakou, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the School of Economics and Political Sciences, Department of T.O.E. and D.E.O. at the Cyprus Branch of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and K. Treppides & Co Group, the largest independent consulting firm in Cyprus with an established international presence and offices in Cyprus, Great Britain and Malta, with the aim of effectively connecting academic education with the labor market in Cyprus.
The collaboration focuses primarily on students of the Departments of the School of Vocational Training of the Cyprus Branch of the National Academy of Sciences of Greece, offering internship opportunities and professional experience in an international and competitive environment. Within the framework of the agreement, the company commits to employing at least 30 students, more than 1/3 of the students of the Departments of Vocational Training and Vocational Training of the School of Vocational Training – Cyprus Branch of the National Academy of Sciences of Greece and to covering 50% of their annual tuition fees, effectively enhancing their access to education and their professional rehabilitation.
Through the agreement, K. Treppides & Co Group will actively support the professional rehabilitation and development of students, providing access to modern practices in the financial, auditing and consulting sectors.
Accordingly, the OPE School will contribute to the academic guidance and selection of candidates, ensuring the effective connection between studies and the job market.
The Memorandum was signed by the Dean of the School of Economics, Professor Nikolaos Iriotis, the President of the Department of Economics, Professor Georgios Dotsis, the President of the Department of Business and Organizational Administration, Professor Dimitrios Thomakos and the CEO of K. Treppides & Co Group, Mr. Marios Kosmas.
The signing event of the memorandum was attended by Professor of the Department of Economics, Stelios Kotsios.
This collaboration constitutes an important step in a strategic partnership between the academic and business sectors, with particular emphasis on strengthening the School of Business Administration at the Cyprus Branch of the National Academy of Sciences and the creation of substantial professional rehabilitation opportunities for its students.
